ROAS & ACOS Calculator (Free)
Convert ad spend and attributed revenue into ROAS, ACOS and break-even ACOS.
Turn advertising spend and attributed revenue into ROAS and ACOS, estimate the profit advertising contributes, and see the break-even ACOS implied by your contribution margin.
How this calculator works
- ROAS (return on ad spend) = advertising-attributed revenue ÷ advertising spend.
- ACOS (advertising cost of sale) = advertising spend ÷ attributed revenue, as a percentage. ACOS and ROAS are two views of the same relationship.
- Break-even ACOS = your contribution margin before ad spend. If your margin on a sale is 30%, an ACOS above 30% means advertising is losing money on that sale.
- Advertising contribution = attributed revenue × contribution margin − ad spend.
What to enter
- Advertising spend and the revenue attributed to those ads for the same period.
- Contribution margin is optional but recommended: it is the percentage of each sale left after product cost, fees and fulfillment but before ad spend. Without it, the tool still shows ROAS and ACOS but cannot show break-even ACOS or contribution.
Important
Estimates only. Attributed revenue from an ad platform is not the same as incremental revenue — some sales would have happened without the ad. Use the result as a directional guide and judge against your own margin, not a target pulled from the internet.
